Radar Detectors & Laser Shifters
Radar Detectors & Laser Shifters - The Best Tech for a High Performance Lifestyle
-
Police radar uses the Doppler effect to measure the speed of your car
- They can be used in fixed positions or moving police vehicles and are accurate within 1 mile per hour, sometimes better

There are three primary types of radar
-
X band radar is the original radar band with a frequency of 10.500 - 10.550 GHz
- It is shared with supermarket automatic doors and could cause false alerts
- This type of radar is primarily used in Ohio and Florida
-
K band radar has a frequency of 24.050 - 24.250 GHz
- Also used in supermarket automatic doors, causing false alerts
- Sometimes uses POP Mode or Instant On Mode for surprise attacks your radar detector can’t predict
- This type of radar is used in vehicles that are equipped with collision avoidance systems and can cause false alerts
-
Ka band radar has a frequency of 33.4 - 36.0 GHz
- This is the radar band that most modern radar guns use, making up about half of the speed guns in use today
- Sometimes uses POP Mode or Instant On Mode
-
Lasers are also used for speed detection, making it important that you pair your radar detector with laser shifters as well
- A laser’s wavelength is 904 nanometers
- About half of all new speed guns are laser equipped
- The beam width is narrow and the officer must be stationary to use laser detection
- Lasers don’t work through windshields, which is why laser shifters mount to the outside of your car
- Measurement distance is typically less than 1000 feet, so detection must be sensitive and quick or it will be too late
-
Photo radar frequency is 24.050 - 24.250 GHz
- These transmitters can be permanently installed in stop lights or used mobily
- You will have very little warning that these devices are used unless you equip your car with a detector that uses a GPS database
- They are primarily used in Europe and Asia
-
Blind spot monitoring (BSM) and forward looking collision avoidance radar (CAR) can often give false alerts
- While BMS uses K band radar, CAR uses a mix of K band, Laser, and 77 GHz
- There are currently six manufacturers of BSM hardware
- Additional software has the potential to eliminate these false alerts and we’re working hard to do so
-
False alerts from traffic flow monitors are also possible
- All ESCORT detectors are equipped with software to eliminate these false alerts
- SpeedInfo installs these monitors and some of the current cities include Dayton, Denver, Honolulu, Lincoln, Oakland, Omaha, San Francisco, San Jose, Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Washington DC
- Laser shifters provide superior protection against driving inconveniences, like speeding tickets, so you can keep moving on the road
- High performance devices like laser shifters can keep you safe and increase your connectivity with high tech features and new laser shifter max technology
- All detectors and laser shifters are equipped with maximum detection ranges, patented GPS, filtering of false signals, extended ranges with the Escort Live app, and excellent customer service
- Built-in Wi-Fi for automatic updates to the latest ticket threats in real time, giving you more time to react to any situation
- GPS enabled detectors eliminate false alerts by learning automatically, alerting you to upcoming speed and red light camera locations
- Escort radar detectors have Redline and STi patented technology to make all detectors virtually undetectable by police
- Access to the Escort Live app and the Defender Database provides real time police spotted data from other users, over speed limit alerts, speed trap alerts, red light camera alerts, and speed camera alerts
- Wi-Fi enabled radar detectors and laser shifters not only talk to each other, but to the data base on the cloud for firmware updates on the latest speed trap locations, equipped traffic signals, or upcoming drops in speed limit to remind you to stay safe
- Laser shifter equipment offers the most advanced protection from targeting laser guns like traditional lasers and even new variable pulse rate guns
- Laser shifters connect to your existing radar detectors wirelessly, so installation is fast and easy, so you can get back to driving
- Connection to your vehicle accessory outlet means you can enjoy all the power your laser shifter has to offer while you’re on the move
- Car enthusiasts benefit from combination radar detectors and laser shifters to enhance their high performance lifestyle, giving them the best technology in a fast-paced driving world
- Easy installation is always a perk, but professional installation offers a customizable experience and enhanced performance, so your radar detector and laser shifters work exactly how you need them to without fiddling with pesky wires or obtrusive equipment in your line of sight
- The Max 360c radar detector is a premier radar and laser detection system, keeping you safe and aware out on the road with a Wi-Fi connection to update you in real time
- For ultimate radar and laser protection, pair your Max 360c with ZW5 laser shifters for more advanced protection
- You can combat surveillance from in front or behind by mounting your laser shifters anywhere you want to detect targeting radar
- ZW5 laser shifters can be paired with up to two laser shifters at a time for enhanced all-around protection
